Key Responsibilities:
Manage litigation
Drafting & filing of legal documents before various authorities/forums including insurance ombudsman.
Coordination with external counsels/lawyers for managing litigations filed against the organization before various authorities/forums including insurance ombudsman.
Manage complaints filed before police authorities against the organization.
File police complaints on behalf of organization.
Track timely compliance of Court awards to avoid any adversity against organization.
Internal Advisory
Support claims team with regard to opinions on repudiation of claims & open title cases within TAT. Assist in recovery of excess amount paid to policyholders inadvertently.
Support to HR department with regard to opinion on employee termination, assistance in recovery of excess amount paid to employees & other ad-hoc assignments of critical nature.
Support to Distribution standard in recovery of negative balance from agents.
Collaborate with risk team to identify & highlight operational issues leading to large customer impact and assist in stitching process gaps.
Due Diligence:
Conduct due diligence in collaboration with external counsel for new branch offices/other office premises.
Measures of Success:
Timely filing of legal documents before the forums/authorities & avoid adverse orders against the organization.
Timely compliance of awards issued by Courts/Forums to avoid legal & regulatory adversity against organization.
Simple & quality advise within TAT.
Participation with risk team and other stakeholders through CFT to assist in stitching in process gaps.
Review of Process Notes/SOPs and suggest suitable amendments for smooth functioning.
Timely completion of Due diligence within TAT and quality advise to the stakeholder.
Desired experience:
L.LB.
6-8 years’ experience in handling legal roles
Domain knowledge of insurance industry preferable
Ability to draft quality content independently
Ability to work in teams and as part of coalitions, both within and outside the company.
Effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and influencing skills.
